Valve noise
I just purchased a used 2007 speed triple. I bought it off a used car lot. They told me that they have no info on the bike, owner, or maintance. It had 1650 miles when I got it. I now have 2400 miles. The oil is clear and full. I've noticed a valve ticking noise, mostly at idle. Not overly loud, but noticeable. I don't know if the 600 mile service was done. Is this cause for alarm? I know more valve clearance is better than not enough. Also I didn't recieve an owners manual with the bike. Anyone out there with one to sell? Thanks, Don.

The 1050 valve train is relatively noisy by nature. Impossible to say online what you are hearing. Maybe easiest for you would be to go to your local Triumph dealer and have a listen to another 1050 for comparison.
If you doubt the 600 service, you could replace oil now with full synth. That's pretty much the only thing done at that service: switch from semi-synth to full synthetic.
Owners manual can be downloaded here:
http://www.triumph.co.uk/uk/Handbooks.aspx
(Pretty useless though, you are better off finding a copy of the proper service manual)

Who knows how long that bike sat there. The number of miles may not matter if it sat there, outside, collecting moisture and the oil is just plain old. I would put a few shot glasses of Seafoam in the crank case, let it idle for 15-20 minutes and dumb that oil good. Then refill it with a good synthetic oil like mobil 1 4T.
Funny, I had a 2007 and it made what sounded like a valve ticking, it went away after a few days, coincidentally when I flushed the oil...but most likely a coincidence.
if I had a bike with zero history i would change EVERYTHING just to start fresh with a baseline. Flush out the brake fluid, new plugs, new airfilter, new fuel filter, regrease every dam bearing. Just for peace of mind.

I don't recommend using a Sea Foam chemical in a PVC tank. Not a good idea.

It could be valve clearance or maybe even a bad cam chain tensioner. It is true that the valves make a bit of noise on the bike stock, but it's not usually loud. I would have the valves checked along with the tensioner.

Shane where in Diego do you live? What color S3? I have to keep my eye out for you.
By the way, tomorrow many S3 riders are meeting way up north to hang out, BBQ some ribs, drink beers. The majority of them are from LA, but we all ride together often all over so Cal. This time, to be fair, the meet and greet is up in Riversidew county so it will be a nice day for a mild road trip.
You can meet me in Temecula (off the 15 freeway) at 11am or so if you want.
PM me if you are interested. I can shoot you my number. If you happen to wanna join us just plan to be in Temecula around 11am. Depending on where you live you can be up here in an hour tops.
