Stoopid speedo question....

The speedo on my 05 S3 is near gubbed. I noticed a small crack at the top left of the lhs display and during my many adventures in the rain one of the LCD lines for minutes has given up...there's a crack on the other side now too ...near the MPH display...SO I've taken the S3 out of service and it's parked up in a nice warm garage. My plan was to remove the speedo, take it to bits, let it dry out, replace the cracked screens and pray...BUT I can't see any bolts to get the speedo off the bike. How does the backing come off?

I saw the price of a new speedo at the Triumph dealer...

Don't quote me on this but I think it just pops off. That's how mine works on my 07.
Good luck!

That's what I thought too but my mechanic grabbed it and ripped it off! It was held on by rubber plugs.
Wait and see if anyone else will chime in, they might be sleeping still!

Yes there are rubber plugs that hold it on. I saw the dealer rip mine off when installing the flyscreen on my 07.

Yes, just pull it off. It's just held on by rubber grommets that go through plastic pins.

I emailed the local dealer and they couldn't tell me if the speedo from an 09 s3 would fit and work on a 05 s3. The dude says the ecu was changed so they don't know if the electronics would be compatible. Anyone know for sure? Anyone lucky enough to own an 05 and and 09?
