Engine coolant question

Hi all

Was after a bit of advice. I have a 2007 speed triple. The coolant always seems to level out a fraction above the 'minimum' mark in the resevoir. The engine temp stays level at half on the guage its digital so no numbers, but 5 bars are visable on the guage) whilst moving but the temperature raises when the bike is static in traffic or after a ride (6 -7 bars which is 3/4 of the guage). Is this normal?

Cheers in advance for the help.

I've never seen 7 bars on my 05, but I understand it is normal for an 07 with smaller oil cooler. Plus, max temperature here only gets to very low 30 degrees C.

Yes normal level for the overflow. And yes normal for the temp gauge.

SoCal cold weather, 5 bars. Normal 6 bars. Traffic 7 bars.

Riding the streets of LA in 90's temp. my gauge stays around 6-7 all the time and the fan comes on fairly often, specially when I'm sitting at the light and not pushing air through the radiator.
