I returned Sunday from 4 days of riding in the Ozarks (Mo.) at the CSBA Midwest Rally. I logged 1600 miles, of which 900 was on the highway. The S3 performed perfectly especially at supra-legal speeds. My brother on his Sprint ST joined us. I have added some pics to my album.

The fully loaded S3 rode as smoothly as one of those "bloated carryall ST's" and my laminar lip gave just enough wind protection to make the ride enjoyable.

Great bike, just the perfect tourer for me.

That's awesome! I also just returned from my summer Harley rental trip with my Dad (Dad has Electra Glide...I rented a Road King). Out of the seven total days of riding, we rode two days thru the Ozarks (from Popular Bluff to Branson and back). Highway 160 is nuts

....for about 200 miles of great condition road I was either going around a curve or going up or down a hill....most of the time going around a curve while going up or down a hill. The ride thru the Ozarks was awesome, but I was constantly wishing I was on my S3....constantly felt I was about to drag the floorboards on the HD

I'm going to have to take the triple down there some time.....it would be a blast!

If y'all are diggin' the Ozark roads...pull out your map and your calendar....map first....look up the state of Missouri, look for "POTOSI" which is a small town situated between Cape Gir. & St. Louis...East central MO. -- circle it in red -- then pull out your calendar and look at the month of October.....good..!!

Now circle the dates 7 / 8 / 9....and put "Falling Leaf Rally" in those dates.

Now go ask for time off from your grunt work -- to ride those beautiful roads on your sleek scoot with a smile..

PS it IS an awesome rally...mostly BMW's - but ALL marques are welcomed..!! It's a hoot...and very v e r y little traffic and loads of hoonin'.

Hannabone,

I checked out my handy-dandy road atlas and with a cursary review can't find Potosi. I just followed I55 from St. Louis to Cape G. I'll spend some more time later to locate it.

I want an additional rally this year and love the southern MO area. I want a rally location that I can reach in one days' ride. I need to see if the days work with my schedule.

I think your biggest challenge will be which bike will you ride.
