I've been thinking about get'n a S3 for awhile. I didn't like them initially, but they have grown on me. Today, I'm walking down the street in Miami and what do I see? It's the perfect Blazing Orange Speedie with all the farkles I'd want to put on it. I got the rare opportunity to see what my bike would look like if I had one. Now what to do about getting one.

When I made my list of pros and cons of each bike I wanted (KTM Super Duke, S3 and Ducati Streetfighter), the Triumph Speed Triple had some things going against it. I summed my list up with "great sounding motor and stunning looks with not much else around it in terms of suspension or light weight" when compared to my options.

And then I bought it. Slapped on some Arrow slip-ons and have had not one second of remorse.

Tons of torque, comfortable riding all day, the sound, the looks, the sound, the looks. Everyone knows me as a high horsepower 1/4 mile freak so to have more miles on my S3 than anything else says a lot about the "basic" bike.

I joke that the dealer threw in an extra pu**y magnet cuz the jet black S3 attracts more comments and thumbs-up, especially from women, than any bike I own. Okay, the VMax gets 'em, too, but from the guys. I won't deny I purchased my S3 for its looks; I've had people stop and take pictures! I still think it's cuz I took off the gangly stock mirrors (replaced them with KTM Super Duke mirrors....huge improvement in my opinion).

I've looked at the same bikes you mentioned. Did you ever consider a Street Triple?
