Hi,
I was pleased to find this forum since I recently bought a '02 Speed Triple. Unfortunately the bike didn't come with the manual, so I would like to ask some basic questions about suspension and tire pressure settings.
I assume that the screw marked S H at the bottom of the shock is for rebound damping. There is also another larger screw on the opposite side which I can't figure out. There is a screw on the can attached to the shock which I presume is for compression. I also presume that the preload is set by loosening the two collars at the top of the shock like it is on other shocks. Can anyone verify this and give me some values to dial in for starters?
The original tires are Bridgestone 010. Are the pressures reccomended by Triumph 42 front, 42 rear? If not what are they?
Thanks in advance for your help, and especially for the terrific website.
Vlad

usually a ballpark figure for tyre pressures is 42 rear 36 front, could be different for bt01s,someone who has fitted these to a speed triple would be worth asking,i have had them on my last bandit and ran them at the forementioned pressures and found that pressure quite good.not got my owners manual with me reguarding the rear shock set up but best to set to factory setting and then adjust a little at a time to suit your weight height preferences etc.suggest you do a search on this site you will find plenty of good info, i will post standard settings when i have manual in front of me if you are stuck.good luck.

valdislav,

Welcome to the S3 Trumphet forum!!!!!!!! I found a CD manual on Ebay for about $7 through a suggestion from this site. Has everything you need in there from "How-To" to all the specs on the bike. When I need info I put the CD in and pull up what I need...................Has come in pretty handy. I think I heard that some of the others on here have even had it printed and bound out at like a kinkos...............if I remeber correctly it was somewhere around $20-$30. Seems pretty reasonable.

Again welcome................this is a great place to get specific info and also general info. The people on this site are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have helped me out alot..........Good Luck.

Ken

Hi,
Before registering I spent a fair amount of time looking at the posts here. I came to the conclusion that this is the most civilized and intelligent forum for motorcycles available through the internet.

I bought a Haynes manual from ebay for $20 shipped. It's hardcover and uses photographs instead of diagrams. You might want to consider that as well.
