Broken Headlight Glass

Has anyone with broken headlight glass managed to find replacement glass at an auto parts store? A rock punched a hole in my left side headlight glass and Triumph wants about $90 for the replacement because you have to buy the entire headlight assembly. TIA!

Consider upgrading to Hella or Cibie Reflector/Lens assemblies

Hella 1 or Hella 2 (no parking light in second unit)

Cibie

I have the Hella's #2, and rode 150 miles or so at night up in VT this weekend. The low beams are decent with a wide pattern, but the highs light up the road like it's daytime! Very impressed. That's with Raybrig Whitesonic bulbs. Haven't done the headlight mod yet. Maybe in the offseason. Drilled holes in the shell for the parking lights instead of taping them up. Easy job.

(this thread is the associated subject matter)
That will be a great complement to your Hellas - confident you will get even better results.
You can predict the outcome somewhat (at least on paper) - measure the voltage at your headlight connectors vs battery voltage & see how much loss you are getting. Remember to check both as they will be different.

That mod originally aimed at the 97-01's - but it would really be interesting to also see what the 05+ delivers at the headlight: I was originally led to false sense of security by the fact Triumph uses relays; but the main culprit is the small gauge wiring. I would not be surprised to see similar loss in the late models and the same kind of mod can easily be incorporated onto these bikes also.

headlight

I also have a cracked headlight with broken interior tabs, the low beam looks as if I have no vision, the high beams look normal on my 97 Speed Triple.
$105 to replace from Triumph- another 30. for better bulbs

TIA
