Has anyone heard rumours about the next major update on our beloved Speedy? I have an 07 getting a bit long in the k's, so im beginning to wonder when the next model will come along? As I have already got this one just the way I like... no rush to upgrade... but if there is a new one on the horizon???? Well Id better start saving the pennies!

I just got a ltd ed anniversary triple and was told there was no changes for next year for the triple. I was waiting to see if there was one as well as i would have got the new model but the anniversary looked good with the red decals so i bit the bullet

you also got a different set of calipers. your lettering is recessed and painted where ours is raised and no color.

With the big 4 jap companies holding off on model updates for 2010 due to the financial crisis i would highly doubt the S3 would be getting a makeover anytime soon.

On of the big pluses for me with bikes like this is that you can quit being hooked on the addictive teet of the frenetic bi-yearly restyle and redo that has become the norm with the japanese rr's.

You can buy a speed triple, have it for 5 years and it doesnt 'feel' ancient.

with the financial shock of last/this year I suspect everyone will be in a kind of holding pattern and make little or no changes for the 2010 model year.

My gut tell's me to keep an eye out for 2012.

My bet for 2011. Since 1999 the Speed Triple has changed each three years.

Mmmm 2012 huh? Such a long wait

Im not in a rush to update... just always curious to hear whats on the horizon.

I have been looking at the change in opposition... and with the Streetfighter, Buell, and rumoured Tuono V4, 3 more years is a long time for a design that first appeared in 1050 form in 2005.

Im secretly hoping the new speedy can come out and reset the standards!

Perhaps a tuneboy will suffice... Not like my S3 is slow!

Considering I just upgraded from a 15-year-old version that I'd had for 11 years, I'm not even remotely concerned with that sort of stuff. I keep my bikes a long time. It's interesting to watch the changes, but I prefer to know a bike as opposed to worrying about keeping up. As JasonW pointed out, planned obsolescence is a headache. Glad I'm not hooked.
