The two necessities after buying a Speed Triple

There are two necessity tasks that must be performed after buying a Speed Triple:

#1 - Ditching the insect-like antenna mirrors

&

#2 - Ditching the hideous dragon tail

Here are my results:

Replaced the mirrors with a simple bicycle mirror from REI. And the dragon tail was replaced with an Ermax Fender Eliminator.

Funky fresh!

Always liked that blazing orange...

Is this 'THE TEKMOE'? Respected forum member of a recent yester-year? First guy to find and adopt the M4 gp shorty pipe? DJ extraordinaire? Last I recall you were flirting with greener pastures of a KTM superduke if I remember.. Headed back home huh?

, great if it is!

Leave him be, He's not new at this with this bike, probably just pacing himself.

Wow! You really know how to make a guy feel popular!

j/k

Yes, this is 'THE TEKMOE' if that's how you perceive me. I had to take a break from motorcycles for some personal reasons but I'm back. Definitely taking it slow this time. I've had my new speedy for almost two weeks and she only has 60 miles on the clock, with 56 of those being put on by me. Then again it's been raining for the past 5 days so that hasn't helped much either.

And yes, I love those Superdukes but the one thing that really turned me away from it is the fact that it's more or less like a Ducati Hypermotard. Both of those bikes are really intended to be canyon carvers. The Speed Triple (in my eyes) is so much more than that. It's built for the city and I could not find any other bike that could top it. I almost went for a Street Triple but I know I would miss all that bottom end torque. No placement for displacement.

Of course not. I like the feeling of knowing I have a brand new bike!

No but seriously, I need to find a hairdryer to get the stickers off. My mom has one but I haven't had time to ride it over to her house.

My bad then. I chucked the mirrors off my 05 and put on stock 07. Now the 05 mirrors really sucked!
