I just received the following:

The Power Commander has been developed for the 05 Speed Triple. The unit is in production and should be released some time next month. At this time we do not have any plans on developing an ignition module for it but this may change so keep an eye on the website. Thanks.

Without the ability to use the TuneBoy software on the new S3, this looks to be the only option short of aftermarket engine management.null

From Wilcox:

Your engine is the NS type, the Mod EFI would need to configured to suit and would not be cost effective.

Your dealer has the ability to change the stock map to one designed for the "race" silencers/cans. They cannot alter the map for you as you modify the engine farther and farther from stock. And I am convinced the even this map could use some work.

Units like the Power Commander (and Tuneboy software for the older models) allow you to tailor the fuel curve for your own use, modifications, etc. This allows you to develop a map, based on your modifications and engine, that will make best power.

A map is just the amount of fuel (and/or timing) that the fuel system (via the ECU) injects at a given throttle setting and rpm point.

I hope this helps.

As I recall Sir Loin was dealing with Techlusion to help develop their fuel modification system for the new 05 Speed Triple. It's not as sophisticated as Tuneboy or PowerCommander, but it should give you some tweaking options. Once I hear how it's working I may just give it a try. Cheaper than PowerCommander or Tuneboy, and doesn't require a PC. It's developed by the same guy that developed the PowerCommander

Click hear for Techlusion

The new Fuel Injection is built by Kiehn, if I'm not mistaken. Are any other motorcycles using this FI system? And if so, don't you suppose there are some serious engine tweakers out there that understand it?

The Keihin/Denso ECU is used in many other bikes up to and including the 'Busa.

The Tuneboy software is a result of cracking into the Sagem ECU software. As much as I would like to see the software in the Keihin/Denso ECU cracked and an option like the Tuneboy brought to market, I do not expect it any time soon. It takes a good deal of time and effort.

As a result, the Power Commander (although only an emulator, not truely re-mapping the ECU) looks to be the best option, and possible the only one for a while. I will continue to look into other options as well.

I didn't buy my 05S3 to leave it stock.

You are right. I've sent them wiring photos and a diagram of the 02 sensor, and I should have the 02 bypass in hand this week. They had a production run just recently. They already sent me the TFI box which consists of 4 potentiometers to adjust idle, cruise, full throttle, and high rpm fuelling.

I am going back to using the TFI because of the success I had when modifying a Suzuki TLS. The TFI box made a huge difference in the bikes performance.

The box is very easy to dial in, and can be adjusted during test riding, or dyno'd to squeeze the very last bit of performance out of it.

Once I get the TFI installed and dialled in on the Triple, I'll make a detailed post on settings, results etc.

Sir_Loin - with the TFI unit, are you limited to only adding fuel to the stock map, with no ability to reduce fuel at some points? With the dash-pots, isn't this limiting the overall fuel delivery if you can't tune each rpm point?

What is the projected price of the TFI unit?

Please share some of your experiences with this unit - you obviously like it, and have done well with it in the past.

I am just looking at all options.
