suspension question

I weigh about 115kg (254lbs). was messing around today with my suspension settings, on my 09, to see if i could get them more suited to my weight. I set the rebound and compression on front and back at 1.5 turns from fully wound in.Went for a ride and seemed to be working better for me, until i negotiated a roundabout at a speed i'm not unaccustomed to (been into it and out of it a lot quicker before) and lowsided instantly. The bike went from me like the road was made of glass(as these things happen i guess). Managed to start it and ride home with some superficial damage and broken levers.
Guess i messed up with these settings? What kind of approximate range should i be in with front and rear?

yeah, it was a cold day, tyres were warm, might have been something on the road the way it went down, am paranoid that i had the wrong suspension settings after changing them this morning.

I weigh 225 and had my suspension professionally set up a while back. See the thread below for details.

Since then, I've backed off the rebound 1/4 turn to 1 full turn out. I think the set up is as good as I can get it without changing out components.

I've heard a lot about the springs needing to be switched out for riders over 225 lbs or so. But I'm on a college budget, so... diet time! :P (cheaper than springs...)

S3 Street Rat - a diet is not only good for handling, but is the best and cheapest power to weight mod you can do for your bike (and yourself)

My Tiger, would clearly outperform my older S3. The bikes are only 9kg apart (s3 being the lighter), but I'm now 40kg lighter than when I got my S3! I chose the combo of counting calories (using a website calorieking.com) and exercise (I'm bicycling at least 4 times a week).

If you can find a method that works for you go for it!
