checking a frame for bend?

I've got a post running right now about my bike that i wrecked two last week.

In short the bike looks like it made it through the accident without putting any hits on the frame. I'm on a college student budget and am trying to figure out how to get it back up to speed with the lowest cost.

Biggest concern is if the frame is straight. If its not, then im just screwed anyway. I'm looking for an opinion if you all think i could have bent it considering the accident, also if anyone knows how to measure the frame for square I'd love to find out.

story: Pair of cut back turns out here. Recommended 25mph turn, i came in at about 75. The left turn handles at those speeds up until about 2/3 of the way through where the engineers decided it would be a good idea to flatten the slope out so that it could connect with the next turn to the right. I was distracted, found myself drifting high in the turh, hit gravel and then to my suprise directly in front of me was a downed tree on the side of the road another accident was kind enough to put there.

Bike hits mass of tree branches, launches me off. I hit helmet first (Thank you joe rocket for saving my life ). Here's the flight path on the bike. Tree grabs bike, branches start bending back. Tree hits street sign behind tree, bends it over. Tree reaches end of give, bike comes over the top. Rear wheel comes over the top as the bike begins to swing over at a plane. Bike comes over the top landing on the top left side. Left side handle bar is bent down to the tank. bike continues rolling over the top at an angle and hits the back left side subframe of the bike. Subframe is deformed at least 1.5 inches down. Bike is now on its side and upside down a bit, wheels now roll over the top. Bike stops on this side i believe, bends the exhaust header a bit and the mount to the subframe moving the stock pipe within a 1/4 inch of the tire (You can also see rubber on the pipe where the pipe must have hit the wheel while it was still moving.)

So thats how it went down. I fractured my pelvis... which hurts like a son of a bitch.

Got the bike back. The front forks are just barely torqued. Slightly twisted, but not bent. Swing arm is not broken. Sub frame is very bent. I've got the sub frame removed and the plastics off and i see no major damage. It appears that top mounts for the subframe to the frame may have very slightly bent the flanges that are welded to the frame.

I'd love to know what everyone thinks.. more than anything i just wanted to type this out cause of how odd of an accident it was.

There's no way to check it yourself - needs to be done at a specialist with sophisticated alignment jigs and measurement tools.

My first 2000 daytona was stolen and slamed into a a big landscaping rock at 100+mph. It trashed front forks and triple tree, and subframe. Got new forks ,trees, and subframe and other cosmetic things and every bolted right up. The motor being bolted in 8 spots I think helped from tweaking frame plus all the othe parts are more likley to bend first. I would say the frame is good, Just check all welds for strees cracks.

Jesus... not the smartest criminal. Was the guy robbing a bank?

Its funny, now that i got the subframe stripped and everything looking at it clean it doesn't even look like the forks are bent thanks to the tree...

My wallet dislikes DEcosse's reply... but its the only way to know for sure i guess.

The guy was just joy ridding around town on my stolen bike. I had actually seen him on it a couple times. (its crazy when you baby gets stolen how many bke you really do see out there. I was looking at all of them.) He had been in about five high speed chases with the police. They would call me every time they tried to chase him down.
I even tried to chase him once but since I had a truck with a trailer on the back couldnt even follow him at the slower speeds he was doing threw traffic.
The night he had wrecked the Bike he also had his girl friend on the back for a while tell she fell off on the interstate and he kept going. then while fly threw side streets going about 150mph he noticed the street ended. Skidding the tire for over a block down a hill and hitting a boulder and flying him off face first into a side of a house about 100 feet from the rock.
Went to the scene the next day to pick up all my bolts and pieces.
