OE aftermarkert parts fitment problem

Hello All-

I ordered some OE aftermarket pieces of kit for my '08 S3. The black anodised heel guards and the frame plugs for the lower Arrow exhaust that go right under the seat. Two problems I noticed when I went to install them tonight:

1) The black heel guard holes do not match up to the footrests mounts. If I do one hole, the other hole is off quite a bit. And vice-versa. There was no indication in the directions of left or right guards. I tried both anyway. ***?

2) The round exhaust plug mount. The directions say to use the OE rubber grommets and put the plugs through the grommet holes. Problem is the plug does not fit through the grommets.... No way, no how will it fit.

Any suggestions before I return them to the dealership?
