Speed Triple or BMW K1200R

So I love both bikes. I was going to buy a used K1200R at a local BMW Triumph shop, but after I rode both bikes I kinda went into a state of confusion on what to get. I am trying to decide if I can justify the extra cost of the Triumph over the used BMW.

So, how many of you ride 2 up? We just sold our 09 r1 because riding 2 up was hell. I am looking for more of a comfortable 2 up bike without going to a lame touring or cruiser type bike.

I know you are all Triumph guys but feel free to pitch your opinion. Also, what should I expect to pay for an 09 with the belly pan, rear cowel, and windscreen package? I just figure that since we are towards the end of the season the dealer should be a lot more willing to negotiate. I am currently demoing a really nice speed triple and it is a lot of fun. Has the arrow exhaust and a bag full of other after market goodies. It has been pretty nice, but no foot pegs so I cant tell how it is 2 up.

new vs. used

tan,not sure, about new,as you`d just have to make a few calls to various dealers.but you might get a handle on goin` prices,on e-bay,late model and some new bikes are listed, then you can visit "their store"and make contact, that way, although i cant say how useful a good deal,,half way across the country would be.maybe a review of factory /aftermarket,available options, warranties, service intervals, ect.good luck with your evalutations cant see how you go wrong with either choice.
bon chance,,,,,gaptooth

That's easy...the R. Everybody knows the S3's pillion is just there to support the aftermarket carbon fibre cover.

I'd like to have one of those. I would be curious to feel how different the riding position is. I love my S3 but I'd like a bit more relaxed riding position.

It's polite for newbies to introduce themselves. The link to bmwmoa was to tell you that the bmw you looked at will be a better choice for two up riding and that's where you could be learning more about the K bike. You're welcome!
