I'm going to put some new shoes on my S3 this week and I'm trying to decide between the Michelin Pilot Sports and the Dunlop D208ZR. I just bought the '99 S3 and the tires are shot. I haven't had time to get a feel for the tires (I think they're the Dunlop 207 series). What do you all think about the Michelin's vs. Dunlops? Is there another tire I should be looking at?

Thanks!

Go Pirelli Diablo or Diablo Corsas and you won't look at another tire. I've done wheelies in the rain with these bastards and haven't had a single slip from the rear end except in the wet on tar strips.

Rain? In LA? :-D

I got the Pilot Powers recently & well pleased with those so far.

I was just describing how incredibly grippy these tires are, no matter how dry or wet your climate is.

I used to drive Diablos and loved them (still do). But the Michelin Powers are also great. They give me the almost the same feeling as the Diablos, but the Michelins last way longer...

I just got off the phone with the shop I alway use. These guys are great. Anyway, he recommended the Dunlops. He said that they heat up faster that the Pilots and that they'll last a bit longer - but not much. That's what I'm gonna go with.
