My dealer reckons I'm giving my back tyre some Jip. 2500 miles and its nearly done. 3000 will be tops.

I dont thinks its too bad, I'm not a hooligan honest :lgh: I just like corners... cant wheely and scared stiff of stoppies.... :flam:

Any o'you lads got better or worse?

I'm in the same perdicament, 3200 miles and wheels need new sneakers!! I do nothing but back roads to work, which I'm told is the culprit.

I think I will get 5000km out of my Michelin rear. Now at 3500km it looks quite worn out already. I'm sure the front will last a bit longer.

My front is wearing much more than my rear. But the rear is now starting to catch up now that I have played around with tire preasure and frt. suspension settings!

front pressure 40 rear 42...

I'm getting over 10000. (yup that's ten friggin thousand miles) on the front AVON ST AZARO on my K-bike.
The rear will show around +6000 miles before re-shoeing.
And yes, I drive waaaay fast yada yada yada....

My S3 has Bridgestone OEM BT-010 on her now...with Azaro's coming soon.

The Azaro have a dual compound - they wear like iron and are perf in the twisties.

Here's my back tire after 3200 miles (where it went flat).

you might look into dual compound or touring compound tires if you're wearing primarily in the middle. might save you som $$ to go with a harder/longer lasting tire if your not beating the hell out of it in every corner, but whats the fun in that

I think my problem is that a love bends but accelorate like stink out of the corners to beat my sports bike mates in to the next bend.

I also like use the back brake to steer mid bend. :upthumb: (a little trick I learnt doing enduro's).

My dealer wants £125 for a new rear tyre; what do you think?
