My st has been in the shop for 6 weeks. I brought it in to fix the starter, and when the mechanic took off the tank he broke the fuel line. The part screws into the fuel pump and quick connects to the fuel line. Now they say they cant find the connector without buying a new fuel pump. Does anyone know how to find this part, or does the shop have to buy a new pump. I would really like to be back on two wheels before summers over.

Sounds a little odd that the connector is not available separately, since the fuel quick disconnects were the subject of a recall already. Maybe this isn't the same one...that's one of many things I don't claim to know. However, since they seem to think it's necessary to get a whole fuel pump, the question really becomes why don't they go ahead and order it, since they are the ones who broke it?

No point in them hemming and hawing. They're going to take a loss because of their mistake anyway, so they might as well go ahead and finish up so they can at least get paid for the original work.

Heh, I've taken off the tank a few times and the worst that happened to mine is I sliced an O-ring. Those fittings are metal. How the heck did they break it?

I don't know how they broke it. My guess would be they aren't used to working on triumph, but where I'm at my options are limited on service. If I just knew where to order the part I would. And take it to them and charge 50% mark up.
