My 05 S3 is the first bike ive ever owned with a SS swingarm. At 200 miles of not quite following the break in to the letter my chain is in need of adjustment. The manuals description of tightning the chain seems pretty straight forward except I dont have a torque wrench to retighten the clamp bolt to 50 nm. Is a torque wrench really necessary? I mean I did change the oil without using a torque wrench on the drain plug or filter.

Not really needed,I do mine without one.Just pay attention to how tight it is when you take it off.But torque wrenches can be had fairly cheap all over.

IMO one should definitely invest in a torque wrench, especially since a bar-type from Craftsman [lifetime warranty at Sears] can be had for as little as $20.
