the bike doesnt free wheel very easy as if the front brake is on just a fraction. is this normal????????

and i just ran the bike up and down the back ally (no tax disc till tuesday you see) and when i returned it to the garage the pipe at the bottom of engine had been dumping some thin blu fluid. what the fr^£$^%$&ing hell is that??????????????????

please help and ease my mind

That´s coolant. Mine spilled few drops when I first ran it. I think it is normal.

Mine still spills coolant (small amount) from time to time, probably depending on how hard I drive (engine-temp). I have driven ~1700km so far...

well that seals that question cause its definatly coolant. its was quite a bit that spilt (1/4 of a teacup) so i will keep an eye on it.

can anyone answer the other question about the stiff freewheel.
it sounds like the pad is just rubbing the disc?
has anyone experienced this when new?
is it just because it hasnt even done 10 miles?

Mine too and it seems the MIN/MAX levels on the coolant expansion chamber are a bit on the high side. If I fill the coolant exactly to the MIN mark with a cold bike and run the bike hot it will dump some coolant on the first stop.

I think this is because the cooling fan will not run while the bike is off, so immediatelly after stopping the engine will heat more than it ever would while running.

The brakepads SHOULD be a fraction on the rotor. This is completely normal. Otherwise when you should apply the brakes, they would go for Zero contact to 100% contact... which is not that intresting when braking.

Have somebody helping you trying to lift up your front wheel. This should easily be turning around when to try to rotate it by hand. (And like mentioned, you should hear the friction of the brake-pads).

Coolant indeed leaks when turning off the engine if it's a bit (too) hot. At least, my '05 does this as well.

I can hear my front brake pads when im moving the bike around in the garage but they dont seem to be binding down too much. Id say that if the bike is easy to push then dont worry about them rubbing a little. They will wear down a little then you will be ok. Otherwise you will have to lift the front end and try spinning the wheel as mentioned to check it.
