The dealer has been great to deal with Triumph have given me a fly screen, belly pan and tank bag in compensation . Any body else had trouble . ......? nearly a month sisnce I got it and only go to ride it for 2 days... been in the work shop the rest of the time.

Bad news, best of luck!

The only thing I've noticed is some noise on acceleration that sounds like a bag of pins. Especially if passing a large flat surface (van/window etc). That's apart from the huge satisfying growl of course...

Mine leaks oil from the head also. Not much but annoying in a brand new bike. It leaks on the right side in the front corner where the cam chain is. The two torx head srews are tight enough. I have not reported it to the dealer yet. If they are going to repair it, my rides are over for this season. I´ll wait until the the season is over.

How much did it leak? Mine is just cosmetic. No drips on the ground yet. The front righ corner of the cylinger block is oily after a ride.

There were only drops going on my shoes and the right front of the engine was oily.At first I thought it was parafin as they put loads of it on new bikes but it was oil.It wasn't a big leak but after only 400km on a new bike I thought it might get worse. The dealer changed the headgasket and now it seems ok. :-)

Oh boy. It seems that I have had every one of the '05 problems reported on this board except this one. And now I have this one also.

When washing my bike I noticed that there was oil around the middle cylinder. Not really dripping or leaking oil, but it was covered in burnt oily gunk. I washed the bike and rode back home about 200km with a bit more mellow pace. At home I took a look at the cylinder and the oil was not there.

Was the bike weeping through the head gasket because I really revved it for a few hundred km before?

Or because I had the gas tank vacuum and it was running a bit lean and hence hotter than usual?

Or because it is just a Brit bike and weeping gaskets are a feature of said Brit bikes.

Or because the dealer had overfilled the oil for just a bit?

HarriS, have you had yours replaced or looked into by the dealer? What was the verdict and which of the Finnish dealers did you go to, HD Center or Moto-Seinäjoki?

Mine is going to the dealer in 22.6. It is the Motobox in Karhula. I bought the bike there and it is the closest one from where I live. They are going to do whatever is needed to stop the leak. The leak is getting worse and now it leaks in a place where there should be no oil at all (the head bolt bulge between cyl 2&3). One option is thet some mf forgot to tighten the head at the factory or stripped the threads or the head is cracked or the gasket is simply defective. I am not sure but I have a slightly bad feeling about this.

Sorry to hear the leak has gotten worse. Please keep us posted as to what was the cause of the leak and how long you had to have the bike in the shop for.

One more question Harri, are you still riding your Triple or do you have it garaged & waiting for the service?

I also have a time booked and new gaskets & related parts on order, but I am very tempted to ride the bike while waiting as it seems to run just fine.

Wonder if I can cause real harm to the engine by ignoring the weeping gasket? Coolant and oil mixing or coolant leaking into the cylinder are my top 2 scares right now although I do not see any oil in the coolant or any milkyness in the oil.

Oil and coolant levels also seem to be fine and not dropping.
