SQOTD: fork reflectors

Okay, stupid question of the day....

Reading some old posts and a few mentioned to take the fork reflectors off ASAP (and rid the glue with some gum-out type stuff).

Is keeping them on like keeping high-end bicycle wheel reflectors on just cuz the lawyers want them on for retail sale? I didn't even realize I had fork reflectors until seeing some pics and the aforementioned comments.

If you want to take them off have at it... they are only held on with double sided sticky tape, so if you ever want to put them back on that is all you need. Mine came off in the first day or two as i didn't want to see them any more.

Mine just fell off after the first week of riding. They're there to make you more visible at night as you pull out of a side street. They're Federally mandated in the US along with the reflector right above the license plate. Like those headlight covers from the 60-70's, nobody is paying attention to them anyways.
