Crankcase Vent To Atmo Instead Of Airbox On 09?

Wondering whether venting the crankase through one of those little K&N crankcase breather/filters directly to the atmoshere instead of blowing the hot oily mess into the clean side of the airbox (without any filtration) might help performance?

Obviously it's not environmentally friendly but, that aside, does anyone here 'in the know' have an opinion what if anything this may do for/against performance?

I have the 3-1 Arrow and nop-SAI tune (SAI disabled) and it seems to run rich at the moment. I thought another benefit of this might be that it could lean things out a little, as well as lower intake temps. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

It wont cool the intake temps or change the lean/rich condition of the engine a significant amount. All you will be doing is venting the blow-by gas and a bit of oil to atmosphere instead of burning it.

Ive done it on cars before, but never on a bike. I prefer all oil related things to stay in the engine or out the exhaust.

i kept the original pipe and used a piece of 1/2" copper pipe in the end and fitted a filter over the end,no problem.cable tied the pipe up heigh to keep out of the rain or when washing.the less crap in the airbox the better.
