What do after market rear sets for S3 offer
Are the after market rear sets more comfortable or less? i would guess rear set means just that "Rear sets". Would the stock rider pegs be more comfortable for 59 YO legs? I would like to know before I invest in powder coating the stock pegs and cheap cast attachments.

aftermarket rearsets basically offer adjustability. All I've come across tend to be race oriented thus slightly higher and slightly more rear-ward foot peg placement in it's most relaxed position, they can be adjusted to more radical levels. Feels great when really hustling. Racing rearsets offer NO new levels of comfort over the stock as your knees and legs are bent just that much more...again, great ergonomically for racing IMO...but for distance and comfort....nah. Depends on what you are looking for.
I've had experience with only Rizoma, Gilles and vortex, have not investigated others but these are race oriented.
The rigid foot pegs on these makes you take extra special care and attention when trying to put down the kick-stand. The rigid foot-pegs also make pretty decent crash sliders also.
Some say the stock S3 foot-peg is a tad slippery when it's wet, easy fix is to replace it with an Oberon or Daytona 675 foot peg. But that flat surface is about as comfortable a perch as I've seen on any offerings for this bike. Not the grippiest tho.

I see they have the motoGSG peg lowering kit, looks like a great option. If you get it take pics and let the community know how they work out for you.

look into LSL rearsets, they offer adjustability and are very durable! a little pricey but everyone i know who have them are very happy and recommend them highly. If you just want a better foot peg check out the british customs traction series pegs....really nice!

The rearsets offered for the speed triple by Sato Racing look pretty sharp. They come in a plain aluminum finish or a black anodized finsh. The footpegs are rigid, and look like they'll offer a good gripping surface, but as Mr. jasonworthing has already pointed out, they are only adjustable upward and to the rear of the stock position in 10 mm increments.
Still, if you're interested they can be found here:
