Thumbs up 08-09 S3 lower header heat sheild?

Will the 08-09 lower header heat sheild fit my 06 S3 stock headers? I would like to get one and get it powder coated matte black if it will bolt on my 06.

Just sent a reply to your PM, i believe you are talking about the heat shield on the catalytic converter in the mid-pipe just behind/under the right foot peg. Or is there something else you are talking about?

No, the bikes that have catalytic bulge on midpipe have completely different angles on the pipe. You'd also need to weld some nuts on the midpipe you have, but even then the cover would not match the pipe you have.

bob,

I see you PM'd jamboa on this, but I was curious too, especially given Martin's response. I saw the pics of your 07 with the heat shield and was wondering how you got it on there. A friend of mine has an 06, and likes the heat shield on my 08. Perhaps you could share with the rest of us how you got it to fit. (I'm assuming 06's and 07's are the same.)

Thanks!

No, 06 and 07 are different. Different ECU, different exhaust. Came stock on my bike.

If i had more money at the moment i would actually be looking to getting a replacement mid-pipe without the cat to get a little more free flow.

Ah, there you go then. That will count as my "what I learned today" thing.

Thanks.
