flashing check engine

Hey Guys

Just gave my 07 S3 a bath and now the check engine light flashes when key is in the on position. Everything seems to run fine, but did I get water somewhere I shouldn't have?

Thanks
Mo

This happened to me once when i got caught in a downpour. I think it might be water in the airbox.

Mine was fine after I ran it the next day all day.If it contines or strts to rn funy you might want to check and see if you fouled your plugs

Did this very same thing this weekend -- washed and waxed, went for a ride and the check engine came on.

For me, the problem was the rubber boot that covers the oil pressure sender, it was full of water. Emptied it out, removed the wire to ensure the light went off (it did) and then grounded the wire to ensure it went on (it did) -- reconnected the wire, all was fine.

On the twins at least, if the wire is grounded, the light comes on -- an insulating boot full of water grounds it out nicely! Hope this is your issue (or something equally as simple).
