I think my '05 S3 suspension preloads are set a little too soft for my 110kg frame, especially the rear.

The bike seems to have a lighter than necessary front end, a bit same feeling as when one is riding with a passanger. Would tightening the rear preload help in this and how much should I tighten it at first to see if it helps?

I know one can measure & calculate the correct preload, but I do not have mates around to lift the bike at the moment so I think I'll try the seat of the pants method first.

Just tried the manual recommended 'Hard' suspension settings without fumbling with the rear preload yet. All I can say is: try this out guys, you won't be disappointed.

The handling on the bike becomes excellent. It feels like it is on rails in corners, the drivetrain slack on throttle off-on situations and takeoff is almost completely gone, the front end is very solid on the braking and now you can actually feel what the tires are doing.

The only minus side is that if you drive into a pothole you will get a jolt to your arms, but nothing unbearable or unsettling.

This is the way the bike should roll out from the factory. Sweet.
