All,

A tip for what it is worth. After washing your beautiful machine, take some Armoral Extreme tire shine and spray just a dab on a soft cloth. Lightly go over your casings/covers etc on your engine and it gives you the perfect exact low gloss shine that you had when you picked up your bike new. It does not leave any thick film to collect dust that I have noticed and I have used it 5 or 6 times. Just makes it look new again. Again for what it is worth. Take care all!

My very lazy, but extremely effective tip is to use Scotoil's FS365 spray. just mist it over the whole engine and walk away!! smells wonderful too.

Check out Doug's Insanely Cool Detailing Trick
This really works - if your engine is not in the same state as the example, just substitute the Gunk for a 30:1 Simple Green Solution.
The key to the final detail finish is the tire spray - after you spray it on - engine, hoses etc, just blast it down the freeway - incredible results!
Haven't done it on the bike yet but have done on several cars including my NSX (& I'm very particular about that)

I've gotten similar results using scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner. Just watch where you hose it off because it will douche your drive with gunk.

After washing my machine I use a product made by MOTUL called Shine & Go Silicon Spray. I guess you can get it anywhere but it's available here in Oz for about $15 a can. As the name implies you simply spray it on, generous but not too much of course and it leaves a nice gloss that lasts.

I have a 96 Suburu Outback that I'll try that trick on, and see how it comes out. I'm skeptical, but it'd be cool if it works!
