I removed the "Speed Triple" and British flag decals off my tail section. One side went real smooth - leaving no adhesive to clean up. The other didn't - leaving a film of adhesive. Anybody know of a good product out that will get rid of it but won't strip the clear coat off?

I thought those decals were below the clear coat?

I did too. But they're not. At least on the '04. There is a slight recess that outlines the decals though. Its very shallow and can barely be seen - unless of course you've got lingering adhesive.

I'll try the Goo Gone and see how she goes. If that doesn't work, maybe I'll get her up to 145 the wind will take care of it.

Yes, Goo Gone is good stuff. But make sure you wax the area real well afterwards. Just to give your baby that little extra bit of protection.

denatured alcohol will work also...yes, MAJOR wax after application.

I used the waterless cleaner that the dealer uses to quickly polish the bikes on the showroom floor. I didn't leave the dealership with those pesky caution stickers all over my new S3.

Works like a charm and doesn't ruin finish

My '04 did not have Brit flag decals and I've yet to see a pic of an '04 with them. In fact, I bought one from Team Triumph and put it on the rear section. Where were your's located?

And, out of curiosity...why would you want to remove them? I'm amazed they are not below the clearcoat...just went out and checked. Hmmm...

The Brit flag, on mine, was a little stamp of a decal 1" x 3/4" at the end of - but separate form - the "SPEED TRIPLE" decal.

Don't get me wrong, it looked cool and all, but I like the stripped down naked look - if you know what I mean. Plus I'm Irish.
