I know this has probably been "done to death" somewhere on this forum, but I can't find the thread!!

I want to change the stock can on my 2003 Triple, and would really like the Triumph one, BUT it doesn't carry the necessary "E" markings: a must in sunny North Wales!

Has anybody had any experience of using Blue Flame, Scorpion, laser, or similar "convertible" cans with baffles that you can remove for trackdays (and obviously replace for road use!)?

Would I need a re-map?

Thanks

Hi Windchill - thanks to the "Plug" from George...

I can realy recommend the high level Scorpion can. It has the removable baffle and the E markings. With the baffle out it is VERY loud, with plenty of poping and banging, but I wanted it more to tidy-up the back end rather than noise.

The bike is running really smooth with no remapping. Ther are no dips in power or anything like that. It is quiet up to 5k or 6k RPM, perhaps a bit deeper than stock, and sounds lovely when revving harder.

The only downside is that the back of my heel can touch the guard when I push my feet in/back although I've learned to adjust for that.

I think it was around £170. I understand that they also do a carbon one.

Hi

Check out www.wolfracing.co.uk for high and low level road legal - all come marked and have a removable baffle so you can go race if you ever want to.

You will not need a remap if the baffle stays in and if you only take it out for the occassional blast it's ok on stock mapping too.

Prices start for £169

Thanks all - I like the Scorpion idea.

I've got a pair on my 95 Daytona and she sounds stunning, especially after Dynojetting and fitting K&Ns.

the wolf is going to give a fuller sound than the scorpion IMO. Personally I don't like pipes that seem to open for the bike, if its loose and popping it just sounds like slop. Never heard a scorpion with the baffle in. I have an '03 and I think Jardine and Wolf have the coolest sounding pipes for the S3. again, Just my opinion
