What size is the %^&$ Lft side engine bolt..

I'm trying to get some parts in to the powder coater and one of the pieces I'd like to do is the left side engine mount. Does anybody know what size the "star" bolt or whatever the heck it's called is? I need to go to the hardware store and buy something to get it off. Thanks in advance.

I tried the allen key route. The bolt is so tight that it started to slip. So it's a Torx. I had forgotten the name. I'm an old timer and we didn't have the stupid things in my day. Why just the one bolt and not all 3?

You might be able to get a wrench on the nut on the back or a socket with extensions from across the bike.

+1 on the torx. Local cars parts store probably has a cheap set you can buy.

All my frame bots are the same. I think yours should be as well. What year bike?

When it comes to me being able to answer a technical question that I can't remember (most often the case) or I would need to look up the requested info. then your s#!% out of luck because all my tools and shop manuals are kept at the far side of my garage. 99.99% of the time, when I am screwing around on the computer and I could respond, I cannot get to them because my cars are parked in the way and I cannot get that info. for you.......I hope that helps. Does that answer your question?

It's one of the larger T-numbers I can tell you that! Go get a complete set from Snap on (best), or Sears (better), or Home Depot (good), or Harbor Freight (get's the job done). You will need a set of Torx to add to your tool collection eventually OLD TIMMER H-D bikes have been using Torx for alot of fasteners since the 90's. Gotta have em!

Sears sells them individually. You can buy just the one you need by itself
