Loose seat on 09 Speed Triple

Hi, I just got my Speed last week (2009). I noticed today my seat is very loose in the front area. I took it off and snaped it back in a few times to make sure I had it right but still its like if some parts were missing on the bike to really lock in with the seat...I cant take it off when it's locked but I almost have the impression that I could (by pulling on the front part). I have the optionnal gel seat. Anyone else noticed something similar?

I also have an '09 with the gel seat and my seat fits VERY snugly. Are you SURE you have it clipped in in front correctly?

I can take a look tonight to see if there are any grommets that you may be missing.

Im am an idiot.

Ok, I'm an idiot. After checking the picture myself, it just didnt look right compared to the pictures on the Triumph website I went back to the bike and retried to snap it in place. Ive never had such trouble putting a seat back on a motorcycle but I almost had to force the front in...but it does fit snuggly now. I've never had this happen on anyother bike. Don't get me wrong, I love my Speed more then any bike Ive had before

+1. Front of seat is not in the correct notch.

I've only had my triple for a couple months and it seems like everyother time I snap the front end of the seat in wrong. it happens but I'm getting used to the "feel" of putting in the seat correctly now.

Glad to know Im not alone I had a Kawasaki last year and not once have I had trouble putting the seat back in...it just went in like it normally should. Improvable locking seat system design I guess...I don't really like how it goes off either...but hey I guess it proves no bike is perfect!

Speedo - Just wondering... are the zippers for your tail pack bolted to the seat AND to the rear frame? Mine are, and I've noticed that because of that, and thus the fact that the seat doesn't come completely detached from the bike, it's a little more of a struggle to get the front clip in the right place prior to clicking the seat down.

No mine is bolted only to the seat...so I can completely remove the seat. I was also wondering if the base of the gel seat is the same as the standard seat...
