It is time for the first oil change and the nearest triumph dealer is 40 miles.

does the Purilator pure one - PL14612 fit the 05 S3?

Also most bikes manufacturers recommend dino oil for the break in period because synthetic has too much protection to get good ring seating, and then switch to synthetic or semi after about 1600 miles.

Can any Triumph gurus confirm or deny this for me?
I got some break in info from http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm[addsig]

In a word: Yes.

The PL-14612 fits perfectly and is about half the price of the OEM filters. I's also the exact same filter as my Mazda Miata! So I only ever have to by one kind of filter!

Oh, and absolutely change your break in oil at between 800 and 1000 miles. It's a very different oil than the synthetic oil you normally would run.

The break in oil has very few additives and will break down due to heat very rapidly. Under no circumstances run it longer than 1000 miles or you risk extremely rapid wear and damage to bearings or rings.

This is not a Triumph only thing. This is an internal combustion engine thing. Most Car manufactures break their engines in on the factory floor and then add normal oil, but Motorcycles are a different breed altogether.
