What are all the hoses that are not attached to anyting on the S3? How many should there be and do they need to be in a certain place?

good grief are they not hooked up? be careful and ride slowly back to your dealer for proper assembly.

On my 2005 S3 there are Four. These hoses are breather hoses for the tank and fuel system and such. Do not plug or remove them! This will cause poor performance and unreliable running.

Ideally they should route to just below the engine so that anything that comes out of them drips on the ground and not on the engine itself. The Drippings could be water vapor, or fuel vapor that has exited the tank and condensed in the breather hoses. I've seen this a couple of times on various bikes.

On my Trident one of the hoses is a vent hose for the battery. It is essential that this hose is routed away from the engine or any other part of the bike! The battery vent will drip corrosive fumes on things that will eat paint, aluminum, steel, and rubber.

I'm pretty sure all Triumphs now use a maintenance free battery that doesn't have a vent hose- which is a good thing! My 2005 Speed Triple actually has the battery mounted on it's side. When I first saw it I was pretty skeptical, but it makes sense. It can't leak so why not?

One of the hoses is from the coolant reservoir. I'm sure of that because under my S3 05 there is sometimes a little bit of coolant on the floor with a drop in one of the hoses :???:
I already had to refill the reservoir so I wonder what the cause is.

Not to worry - they are various breather hoses and overflow lines.

Mine "marks it's territory" a bit with coolant after a hot ride. I think the dealer over-filled the reservoir the last time I had it in. Temp gauge has been running in the normal range, so I'm not worried yet. If it continues to be a problem, I'll take it back in. It is slightly embarrassing to be parked next to a Harley and it's your bike that's doing the leaking!!!

My -05 S3 does the same thing after a hard ride.
