Hi guys and girls.. I am fitting a set of R+G crash bungs to my Speed-Trip and haven't got a manual for it just yet. Could someone please enlighten me as to the correct torque figures for the engine mount bolts?. (You know the ones i mean) Thanks in advance- Mick..... :hammer:

Mick,

Can't remember exactly off-hand but i will look it up for ya tonight when I get home. If your mounting sliders mid-engine, I do know on the left side mount (where the seperate bracket is) the torque setting is quite lower then one might expect................very easy to strip those threads there so be carefull.

Ken

According to the instructions that came with my Skyking sliders it's 25 ft lbs on the left, and 45-60 ft lbs on the right IIRC.

Many thanks for the info. Fitted the R+G crash bungs rode up to Oldham and found i couldn't get into a decent riding position, as the inside of my knees were hitting the end of the bungs! Had to take 'em off the next day and return them to the shop. Hopefully getting sorted out with a set of 'Rhencullen' bungs which are fitted to the front of the frame ala Daytona style. So let that be a warning to anyone over 6'......just check how far your knees are from the rear frame to head mount before you commit to fitting bungs which use those as mounts........ :hammer:
