Is it me or is the standard of spelling and grammar on this forum dropping on a weekly basis? It’s often close to impossible to understand some posts and replies it’s so poor. I know it’s not just this site but you’ve got to start somewhere.
The English language is a beautiful thing which should be savoured so it’s not a lot to ask that everyone try a little bit harder? or is it? If we don’t do something we’ll all be speaking text-message-jive within a decade, the Oxford English will no longer be in print and Chavs will be running the country (although some say they already are)………….god help us all.

I guess your grammar is deliberately way off on the above post just to make a point?
But on topic: maybe you should also cut some slack for the non-english natives that are posting on this global board. After all some of them might, like me, have english as their third or fourth language.

I don't want to play peacemaker here, but I honestly think you both have valid points.
It's true (apostrophe use is correct here and in the above post by TripleNut) that not everyone has English as their first language so we should cut those individuals some "grammar slack" and indeed, pay them some respect for their lingual skills!
However, those of us having English as our first language could certainly make an effort to use correct grammar, not only for ourselves, but to make things easier on our non-English-speaking members!
(nomex suit = on)
