Im with you,I love the twin headlights its a BIG part of the S3.If it came with a single headlight then someone would retro fit twins, just to be different. But hey thats life, each to their own you cant be critical of someone else's taste's thats what makes us individual. If you like the look of a Duke then buy a Duke.If you want youre bike to sound like a Harley then buy a Harley.I think hexagonal Tyres would look pretty trick ,anyone seen this done.

It is significantly lighter than the twin lights.
Wiring was simply plug it in. I used one of the heaslight bulb connections and it worked on dip an main beam, The other connector I simply taped up.

Light beam is ok. not as good as twin lights obviously, but our European laws mean only one light is illuminated anyway - unless you modify them

If you want a Ducati, buy a Ducati. This is obviously an attempt to make the Triple look like the monster or the streetfighter.
Totally opinion, but I LOVE the unique look of the dual bug-eyes.

To each his own. I think Triples are rare enough that you don't need to change such fundamental properties in an effort to make it unique.

Your triple will never be a Duc. With the dry clutch, the ducs sound like they are going to rattle themselves to pieces. I rode a track day that was sponsored by Ducati - about 75% of the bikes on the track were ducs. I was NOT impressed with them, whether in looks, sound or performance.

Again, not intending to insult anybody, just opinion!

Don't worry - you would have to try much harder than that to insult me

This project wasn't in any way an attempt to make it look like anything else.
Its not even a 1050 Speed triple !

It is a 2006 955 Daytona -

What I wanted was a unique bike.. There are lots of streetfightered bikes around and the majority of them fit twin lights. Triumph bought into that idea when they created the speed triple in the first place.

But never having been one to follow the fashionable crowd, I wanted a bike that was different, hence the 3-1 Leo Vince can and the headlight.

Twin lights are a little passé imo. The triumph one especially as they don't even hug the forks closely, instead they are hung out on a subframe far to much out over the front.
I did consider fitting twin light tucked in close, but this works a lot better. It is a modern look and suits the bike perfectly.

I have NO desire to own a Ducati ! ever... Nasty horrible little v-twins are not for me. I have raced Triumphs and love the triple engine for its power(150bhp on mine), sound and soul.
It is a modern classic and best of all

ITS BRITISH !!!!

Trackday...thanks for the post, the bike looks great! Your info has definitley confirmed my desire for this light unit...

You have any stateside leads to an 06' Daytona motor? I'd love to make that swap into my Speedy.....

I guess eBay is your best option.

I bought a few parts from the states for my bike as even with shipping they were cheaper than the breakers in the UK.

As my bike is mostly 955 parts I'm not sure what would be involved in swapping the motor for a 955 unit. What I do know is that a lot of the Triumph parts are interchangeable right across the range of bikes from the early T595 through to the newest 1050's

Very nice set-up. If only it wasn't so pricey, I would do the conversion on my 03 S3.
Remember, the original S3 were single headlight.

As for Ducatis, they are very nice motorcycles and quite fun on the track. I also have a 01 996 that has been retired from track duty. Honestly, this design is a timeless as the Speed Triple, it lasted for over 10 years. Same with the MV F4.

Both my lights come on at the same time and haven't been modified. Sure you didn't have a bulb out?

They were like that at one time ponty - some markets had the opposite lights (one only) low & high beam.
