Anyone use magnetic oil drain plugs?

I saw this magnetic plug website.

Do these things work or they are they unnecessary? I know my 2008 Suzuki sv650 had one.

I do use it. And neodymium magnets around the base of oil filter.
I'd put it in on first oil change (100 miles into bike life). Amount of metal shavings caught on magnet is quite surprising, initially some big ones. At last oil change (9k) there was still some metal particles, but more like very fine dust.
Plug and filter magnets give me cheap insurance - well worth it.

IMO the best thing to use is magnets from old hard disc drives. They are crescent shaped so you can use two of them on the bottom of your oil filter, they are also very strong.

The great thing is if you have an old hard drive laying around, they're FREE!!
