This forum requires that you wait 15 seconds between searches.

I know its a minor annoyance but are you serious?? your database cannot handle more than one query every 15 seconds?!! Time to look into some new software methinks..

That's news to me, do you actually get a wait response between searches ?

Ride on !

p.s. Well I signed out as a Mod and signed in as a Member and it works just the same, no wait, immediate responses to the same search questions.

Can you clarify your observation a bit more ?

i get that message "this forum requires...." if for example i misspell a search term and want to immediately correct it I have to wait.

to duplicate it: search for term that is not allowed, like "re jet"
the word "re" is too short, so first it refreshes the page to tell you that and then hitting the back button and re searching will bring up the error regarding too many searches

Odd I can't replicate that response, even using your example.

I'll pass it to Admin, see what they say.

I also cannot duplicate the problem so I am at a loss.

Ok I managed to duplicate it, but only when searching within a thread.

I will look further into it.

That behavior is intentional. It's to keep people from running up their post counts real fast with lots of meaningless little "me too" messages, and to make it a little more annoying for would-be spammers to flood the board with crosspostings... the idea being that legitimate real-world posts will require more than 30 seconds to compose. It also eliminates a lot of duplicate posts from times when people accidentally click the Submit Reply button more than once before their message gets posted.
