Classifieds not allowed?

Recently I attempted to post a set of Progressive shocks for sale to fit the Rocket III. When I attempted to post in the CLASSIFIEDS section I was faced with a message that I had was not allowed to do so.

So, I went to the wrong place to post a classified, the Rocket Science section and was promptly informed by the moderators that it was the wrong place. I knew that but had no other option here. I was informed that I had not posted enough here to be granted the ability to sell in the classifieds section. I have no idea how many times I have posted here and do not know how to find out.

But, what I find remarkable is that I had over the past two months posted a Tuneboy cable for sale and a 2005 Rocket III for sale, both in the classifieds section.

What's up? Has this site has had a change in the rules recently to keep people from participating? Has this site become one step more unfriendly?

Moderators..........................???

If you look under your name in the box to the left of EVERY post that you have made, it will tell you how many posts that you have made.

Yes, there has been some changes and as the classifieds on this site are free, so new rules have had to be implemented to stop some people abusing the service.

A minimum participation in this online community of 50 posts are now required to use this sites classifieds.

No one has deleted any posts under your name in this thread, so far as I can see. Or, are you perhaps thinking this is the other thread, which you started previously?

For what it's worth, staff have been advised that members aren't necessarily able to post a classified immediately upon hitting the magic 50 number. The system does not instantly update member group status when the post count changes, but processes it in batches throughout the day. So, it's entirely possible you might not be able to do classifieds until the following day.

annoying rule - for me at least....

been using this site as a resource ever since i bought my bike - i'm not very active in "discussion" but come here often when i research a part or troubleshoot any issues i'm having.

guess i'm going to try to get in a bunch of posts tonight so i can qualify to post a request under the parts wanted section....

anyone have any stock bars for sale?

Yes we considered just having a time base qualifications period but unfortunately it doesn't put off scammers who can register then sit on it for the period. It's a credibility issue and the rule is to build some up. Most of the problems we had with those type of people they had zero site time and low post counts.

Go participate on Biker Hangout, it's a good way to get up your post count.

You can also have one free Ad on the new Motorcycle.com Classifieds site that has just opened up, no restrictions on that one.

What's up with this site???

Why does everything have to be so freakin difficult. 50 posts?? I have 49. I have been coming to this site for years and contribute regularly. I have bought and sold items. Now we suddenly have all of these rules to make it difficult to do anything. Its a freakin motorcycle site - not trying to solve world hunger here. Please stop with all of the rules and regulations. I come to this site to escape all of the that crap. Not to get frustrated and quit.

I am not sure what your problem is, but you actually have over 280 posts.
