Where are the America and Speedy Riders?

I guess I haven't been on the site much the last few weeks, but it seems the forum has eliminated the separate forum for the America and Speedmaster, what gives?

Don't hang out at this site much anymore, as you have to sort throught too much chaff to comunicate with and TBA/SM riders. Backward step if you ask me.

I think that maybe the cruiser guys don't like being referred to as "Twins".

Kind of a hassle to start following a thread and then discover you're wasting your time because it doesn't apply to your bike. Not welcomed by BIR either...

I dont' mind being lumped in with the "Twins" It's the first place I Check when I log on. I would kind of like a personal place though.

It is a technical forum and as such is most useful when separated by the engine that is in it rather than where the footpegs are located. If everyone had their bike type showing instead of avatars and tag lines you could see at a glance if the info applied to you or not.

There seems to be a preference by some users to see the actual word representing their bike's model in the forum name; even though it's in the description.

In the old days, when all Bonnies were in one forum, it was an active place but difficult to use or moderate. Riders would walk up to me, who didn't ride a Bonneville, and state that it was difficult to use.

Many users appreciated the initial separation, but it morphed into basically two different versions of a "general" Bonneville Forum, and one additional for the America/Speedmaster owners (with few users). The numbers reduced further as owners switched to either RocketIII, a Triumph Sport Model, or went Cafe.

Things have been much easier to understand since the change. It's even easier for people to express their dislikes.

However, there is another forum planned for Triumph Cruiser Owners, to go in the Classics and Cruisers category. Primarily because some America and Speedmaster owners want to be out from under the "Bonneville" group, regardless of name or engine similarities.

We can start it whenever the group is ready.

According to Triumph, BA's & SM's are "Cruisers". They are to me also. Why not have a dedicated forum for those bikes?

+ one. I am not interested in trawling through bonnie stuff to find info only relating to cruisers. The fact that there are many more bonnie owners than the cruiser version is the problem. Too much irelevent info!
