annoying website issue
sometimes when I click on a thread only the first post shows up, even though there are several replies.
This is happening quite often, even after I refresh the thread multiple times to try and resolve it. It's really annoying
this happen to anyone else?

No takers so far on your thread BB, I can only assume it's unique to your own PC-internet connection.
Is this the only site it is occurring on ? It appears to be a block page link problem but it doesn't stem from this site.
You may be operating some security software or jafa-script that is causing this.
I'll move this thread to Site Happenings which is the correct forum to discuss site issues and leave a link from BHO

Here are some possibilities: - Make sure only one Firewall Software Program is running on your computer. In other words, you don't want to have the standard Windows Firewall activated if there is already another personal firewall running at the same time.
- Check your video driver and windows desktop settings. Old drivers can cause issues, or conflicts with multimedia extensions installed on your system. This becomes an issue when a site loads a particular object and it stalls a driver on your machine.
- If you've installed anything that manipulates graphics or video, such as iTunes, make sure the default program settings aren't unrealistic. For example, Quicktime may have been set as the default on too many graphic types. This can stall a web page from completely displaying.
- Windows Accesssibility Features, such as "High Contrast" can cause conflicts on some websites. Especially when they display many object types. Stalling pages is a common symptom.
- If you feel comfortable with Linux and booting your computer from CDROM, download the ISO image for DSL (D*** Small Linux), burn it to a CDR, and boot your system with it. If you can browse this site without an issue while running this striped-down version of Linux, you'll know that it isn't your connection or computer hardware.
Hope this helps,

I have narrowed down the issue somewhat.
I knew it was probably related to the fact that the second post in a thread is always an ad. I use firefox and have some sort of adblock plugin. I forgot what it is called specifically. On top of that I run some other security programs. I figured that when it tried to block that ad or examine it, it would stop me from downloading the rest of the thread.
Well check this out.. I've now notice that it only happens when the Ducati ad is running on the second post. Never happens when anohter ad is there.
I do not have this issue with any other website nor have I ever had anything similar happen.
Shawn thanks for the suggestions. Most of my hardware and software is very up to date and I can rule out many of those possibilities. However, it might be useful for general problems others might have

BTW, to get more specific, it's just any Ducati ad that does this, it is the one with the red monster. The other one does not do this.

Yes we became aware of the Ducati Monster Ad had a fault in it from its source and it is now supposed to have been corrected. It appears though it was affecting you differently.

aha! thank you Kenny, I knew I wasn't the only one having this issue.
Something is wrong with that Ducati ad, Tbird. Those italians are up to some funny business!

Well I did report it to the programmers a few days ago, thought they would have fixed it by now, I have to sign-out and be a lurker before I see the Ad but it doesn't affect me even trying via Firefox and IE, so it must be a combination of possible security software you have and the Ad that causes the glitch.
It's not the first time some Ads have caused that, they're often sent to the site with some bad script, get a copy of Firefox it's free (it can help you with the Ads) it's a much better browser.
