this is oh so slow

always noticed this forum is unbelievably slow.

triumph rat net I mean, not the members

I could do the Times cryptic crossword in the time it takes for each page to refresh

and it's not my computer, it is renewed every two years and is hooked up to a fast connection, besides I can access other forums and web pages much, much quicker than this.

puts one off in using this forum.

sorry, but I have to vent

Probably something to do with the route your taking to get here (nothing you can control, it's a DNS thing) that is making it slow. It's running along at a nice clip for me as well.

It has been gving me some problems the last few weeks and its jsut the TRat forum. I use Firefox never ever had an issue but It got updated to a newer version and has giving me problems with this Forum ever since, or at least that is what I can ascertain . I have had days where it has been fine though which is odd. When It would freeze up on Firefox I immeadiatley opened the forum on Explorer and it was fine. So I dont know? Beyond my technocomputerintelligence . :

There are many issues why a site can be slow to an individual, if it was actually slow for everyone including ourselves we'd be doing something about it.

I'll move this thread to Site Happenings where such threads come up from time to time and where they are discussed. Browse thru them and see if they have your answer.

Meanwhile you could check out this Performance Issues link in FAQ which may help you:

It's always slow for me too... both at work
and at home.
It's for this reason I don't log in as often as I'd like to!

I always assumed there's a lot of advertising type stuff attached?

It sounds like you guys might try clearing out your cache. It shouldn't be a browser specific issue at all. It's either DNS (out of your control) or something within your cache (bad page load or just the amount of content in there) that is causing the problem.

Give it a shot and good luck.

Think I've speeded things up by diabling the 'intellitxt' advertising in options... what ever the forum is very usable at the moment
