Posting quotes

Probably a stupid question, but when posting quotes, some show the original writer's name. I have been copying text and then hitting the quote wraparound box. Is there an easy way to get the writer's name included?

You click on the Quote button of the post you want to quote (r/h side of the post) and then delete what text you don't want and leave the rest, don't delete the quoting parameters, just the text.
My quote of your post is an example.

It's also best not to quote in full if it is a large post, also delete any pics of the quote, people don't want to load up duplicate pics when they click on the thread, it's time and bandwidth wasting.

You can practice posting and editing on the forum 'Kicking the Tyres', which is listed under the General heading of the list of forums.

I'll move this thread later to 'Site Happenings' where this question could be useful to other members.
