Looking for one good jacket Fall, Winter, Spring
Oh great men (and women) of wisdom. I seek one good 3 season jacket for all but summer riding. First question is leather or textile? Have a feeling textile is more versatile, but leather is way cool. So far my list includes - Fox Leathers, BMG Montana which is leather or BMG Discovery which sounds like the Swiss Army knife of jackets. Also on the list are Barbour and some of the Triumph - Rivton and now I just found a new one - the Balham from Triumph, this one is very intriguing as it looks great, is leather and seems very reasonable at $280.
Well, that's about it. Any opinions or jackets to add to the list? Oh, I'm
looking to ride down to 35 degrees.
Thanks.

Joe Rocket Ballistic 6.0 or 7.0. Best jacket I have ever owned and is a touch longer like a car coat. Very warm with all the armor and a liner.

I just bought this in black, it is great! VERY warm with the liner in, and reasonable venting with the liner out. Lots of pockets, I like the longer length as well.

I've been happy with the Cortech Breeze Jacket. Great in the summer and with the liner it keeps me warm in the low 40's. Below that I switch to a winter jacket. I bought mine from NewEnough.com but it doesn't look like they have it anymore. Searched for it and this place does though...

I have an Aerostich DarienLight that I bought this year. It has great protection, super ventilation, and lots of options. Down here in South Louisiana, it is good enough for all year (though not quite as cool as a mesh jacket in the heat of the summer). Though expensive, the Dariens (I also own a Darien Falstaff that I use in the cooler months) are the most versatile and most often worn in my extensive motorcycle gear closet. The leather jackets are only good for limited types of weather. They're often either too warm or not warm enough for the whole day. Textile may lack in the "cool" department, but more than make up with practicality.

Fox Creek Vented Bomber Jacket is what I wear in Fall, Winter, and Spring:
http://www.foxcreekleather.com/351.html
Weighs about 700 lbs. and has a lot of zippered vents plus a removable liner. At $452 delivered it certainly ain't cheap, but the quality is unquestionable. Has that classic look that goes with our Bonnie's, too.

Great jacket - Oympia AST
I've been using an Olympia AST in California. It has the greatest vents from almost shoulder to wrist in both arms and scoops on the chest. Way out there on the quality scale, too. You'll find less expensive goods, but not better. The whole Olympia line is superb. The AST works all year here. There is a short and long version.
When in FL we go the other way - mesh for three seasons and non-mesh for the couple of weeks of tolerable temps in winter.

Belstaff is back
They have a new range - try this site in the UK
http://www.bel-store.co.uk/Mensjackets.html
I have the Cordura Tourist Trophy with a lining - good multi-function use - does not withstand torrential rain - but try to avoid that by reading the forecast! It is also more in keeping with the classic style. I like the look of the Knockhill leather - same styel as Tourist Trophy, but in leather - really cool.

Worth Every Dollar
I got this in black/silver without the patches.

If the style suits you, you won't be disappointed.

+1 on the Rocket and New Enough. Bought both my Rocket jackets from them (some time back), a Phoenix for the really hot days, and another which is a series that escapes me (nor is it in the jacket for some reason, maybe Atomic?). The latter has leather sleeves/shoulders and textile chest/back. It vents well, and with the liner, warm as hell. Probably the best jacket I have ever owned.
