Unhappy My poor riding jacket... my poor Bonnie!

I just got home from a ride with my wife and had draped my man-made suede riding jacket over the handlebars. What I didn't see was that the end of one of the sleeves draped over the pipe and when I went to put the bike away and took my jacket off the bike I found that it had melted to my pipe! A closer look found that earlier when we had stopped for ice cream that the same thing had happened to a much smaller extent on the opposite pipe with the lining of the jacket.

What is the best way to get the now melted nylon and pseudo-suede off of my pipes without damaging my beautiful blue-chrome pipes???

I did the same thing to my BMW back in the spring. I warmed the engine up for a few minutes, just to the point where the pipes got warm, then I took a wet aluminum wool pad (like steel wool but aluminum) that wasn't very coarse and gently scrubbed the pipe. It worked out well for me. Good luck.
