Reconditioning full leathers...
Just curious if anyone has any personal insight into how leather ages... I've got an older Fieldgear one piece leather suit, that I'm guessing is >10 yrs old. It was bought used about 1998, and I inherited it in 2002. So, it could be up to 15 yrs old...
Its also been hanging without much use for the last 5 years, I haven't been great on keeping it conditioned or anything... although I'd like to now!
My question is, will the age of this leather seriously impact its protective abilities? Should I keep it for canyon carving, but get something different for track days? Or would it be generally ok for track days? Can I recondition it to an extent?
Thanks!
