Triumph Jackets don't fit my shoulders.

I've got many Harley jackets and they fit me perfectly in Medium. Well, of course I need a Triumph jacket to go with my Bonnie. When I tried a couple of different models at the dealer, they were all too restrictive for comfort in the shoulders. I was later to learn that the Triumph "Racing" jackets are made narrow and tight for a croutch position on the bike.

I've noticed that Triumph has a couple of other jackets that look wider in the shoulders. One is the paddock jacket, the other is the Romero. Anyone have experience with either of these jackets???

I have the Paddock. It's the nicest jacket I own (AGV and Joe Rocket are the other two.) Size was a bit tighter in the shoulders at first, but on long trips (say 700-1000 miles) it's much more versatile and comfortable. I have the XL, but I'm an XL kind of guy!

They seem to run very very small. I have the black canvas jacket, Im normally an XL, this jacket is an XXXL to fit long arms.

Jacket

I have had a Padock, or the retro, jacket for over 9 years now. I have a 50 inch shoulder, and 36/37 inch arms, and have no problems with it at all. It has been an awsome jacket. I bought it to go with a 95 Speedtriple I had, and then rode it with an Adventurer, and a Speedmaster. I have had no problems with the confort at all.

This seems to be a trend in sizing. I just bought a pair of Triumph perforated leather gloves. I've always worn size XL in riding gloves. I had to get the XXL size - and they are very snug.

It isn't just Triumph either. I ordered a new First Gear Scout IV leather jacket from NewEnough.com Friday. I have two First Gear textile riding jackets that I bought about 4 years ago (one is mesh). Both are size XL, and they fit fine. New Enough advised me to go with size XXL this time as the sizing is running smaller now. I should receive it mid-week, we'll see how it fits.

I stopped by the dealer again yesterday. Nothing fit. I am just not built for Triumph jackets and give up.

I wear the Romero (the military is required to wear brighter colors or a bright vest). I like the snug fit, but if you find one you like and may be snug, just wet it down real well and wear it and it will stretch some to contour you specifically. I like the heavy duty thickness of it for safety reasons.

Is that because they are made for "skinny little brits"? Or is it that they use Thai men for size models? Or perhaps Americans are just fatter. You did say you had Harley jackets. I've never seen a thin man on a Harley. Has anyone else? Do you also have a beard? You'll need to shave that off if you ride a Bonneville.

It must be that tea and crumpet stuff that keeps em all thin. They don't have any real food like we have in the land of the lard and the home of the obese.
