Best rain suit?

OK, so I'm looking to spend some Christmas cash and about all I don't have is a rain suit. I like the looks of the Triumph Chevron over suit. Has anyone ever used one? Are there other brands to consider?

I have the Chevron one piece suit and the pants from the two piece suit and a Belstaff rain jacket.

Both set ups have managed to keep me dry in some of the worst storms that I have had the misfortune to have to ride in.

I cannot speak for the Chevron 2 piece suit jacket, but if it is as good as the pants or the one piece suit, it would be great.

The Triumph one-piece Chevron gets very high reviews in articles I've seen.

I have both the one-piece and the two piece Triumph Chevron rain suits. The reason is three days spent in rain with the one piece suit drove me to get the two piece.

Both work great for keeping you dry. But, for me, the one piece was more difficult to manage. Just trying to get the velcro lined up properly for the entire length of the suit without wrinkles to let rain in was just about imposible. And then try to get to your money when you stop for gas. Is like trying to break out of a straightjacket. Houdini would have a problem. Then you have to velcro all over again!

My advice, get the two piece.

PS Actually, for the top, I have the discontinued Triumph waterproof pullover. No zippers. No openings for rain. I love it. Great Triumph reflective logo on the back too.

Get Froggy

"frogg toggs" are terrific at $40 for pants and hooded top or bib pants and jacket for $50. Extremely light-good safety and other colors to choose from-easy to pack-takes up little room-reflective stripping.

I've used one set for over a year-they work and they are inexpensive.

I have the Triumph one piece (it's about 6 years old so I don't know if it's the same as the new ones). It has kept me dry through numerous squalls but it's true test was a day spent riding around Cape Breton where it monsooned nonstop and only got worse as the day went on. That rainsuit kept me completely dry. My boots were soaked (water was about 2" deep when you'd put your foot down for a stop) but they dried out during the next day's ride thanks to the nonstop gale force winds.

I never found getting at gas money to be a problem as I wear my leathers underneath the rain suit and my Vanson has a little pocket in the flap of the zipper right at the breastbone that's exactly credit card sized. I'd keep some cash & a card there, unzip the suit & jacket a few inches & be able to access my cash without a problem. Zip back up & pat the velcro back in a second. No problem.

Bathrooom stops, however, were nowhere near as easy in that thing.

Nina,

I rest my case. (We older guys have to hit the men's room more often.)
