Cortech Perf Leather Pant & Jacket

I just got a pair of the Cortech Apex Air perforated leather pants and their Magnum perforated leather jacket from Newenough and am very pleased with them. The fit, quality, and design are excellent which was really surprising because the price was hundreds below the competition.

I know this is the wrong time of year to be talking about perf leather gear but I live in South Florida. The jacket has a zip out liner that will probably be good enough for 50 degrees. The liner can be worn with or without the sleeves since they are also zipped.

The newenough fitting comments were spot on. I am not easy to fit but following their suggestions the sleeve length, waist, and knee protector locations were perfect. The pants and jacket zip together and should be permitted for track days at most venues.

The pants cost me $197.99 and the jacket was $224.99 with free shipping.

I haven't tried the pants, but have been looking at that style for better protection than the lightest thing I'll wear, which is draggin jeans.

I have both that jacket, and the perforated version of their other jacket... the magnum has the nice reflective piping, and some added foam padding in the shoulder and elbow area. Not impact type stuff, just padding. Makes the shoulders a bit bulkier than the other jacket, but it doesn't interfere with the full face helmet, either on a bonneville, or something with a more athletic posture.

GREAT deal for the money.

I have had some of the cortech zippers start to come unstitched at the sleeve cuff zipper - easy enough with a little needle and thread - hasn't given me a problem since.

I have also had 2 slow speed incidents on different bikes with this brand of jacket - and one hard impact to the elbow - and I did not even feel it later on.

They've already earned their keep - great stuff. The perforated stuff I'll wear here in NC in 98 degree weather without issue (get a nice wicking underlayer, and you'll be fine).
