I gotta agree about the chaps. They're not my personal style, but hey, if you want a pair, check out myleathermall.com. I have no affiliation with them, but a friend told me about it and I've checked out their web site. Prices are good but can't comment on quality.

Oh ya... you bet you a$$ I had my chaps on 38° this morning.
They help a lot by stopping the wind from penetrating through.
I have no problems with my masculinity.

Gotta admit, I have no understanding of the point of chaps, unless you ride a horse.

They go well with fingerless gloves - your butt & finger tips are some of the parts absolutely guaranteed to touch down during any form of undesired gravity-related experience.

Call me Bibendum... not cool, but hoping to avoid skin grafts.

Like HedgeFundGeek I am getting very nervous, to us Brits 'pants' are an item of male underwear

Chap sizing

PZ1,

When you get fitted for chaps, your thigh circumference is important. If you have thick thighs, it is going to determine what size chaps you need, not the waist size. My waist size is 36", which would usually mean a L or XL for chaps. My thighs are thicker than average I guess because when I tried them on I couldn't get the leg zippers to close. I ended up having to buy a 3XL chap size. I can almost loop the belt around me twice!

Good Luck!
